Airport food and drink is expensive. When a lounge pass is on offer, unlimited food and drink, a shower and a comfy, quiet seat can cost not much more than breakfast and a drink in the terminal, and sometimes less.
Lounge “from” prices are per adult, pre-booked, checked 20 October 2026. They change by date and time. Some links on this page will become affiliate links (see our affiliate disclosure).
🍳🥂
Unlimited food and drink
Hot breakfasts, buffets, coffee, soft drinks and, in most budget lounges, beer, wine and spirits, all included for your stay. A few cap the alcohol or charge for fizz: we flag those below.
🚿
A shower
Handy if you’ve travelled for hours just to reach the airport. Only some lounges have them, so we mark showers as yes, no or unconfirmed for each one.
🤫
Peace and quiet
It’s just great to sit in a private, quieter space away from the manic, noisy terminal, with a proper seat, a charger and the flight screens.
Karen’s tip
Make it breakfast
Check your flight time first, so it’s worth your while: you normally get about 3 hours in a pay-in lounge. I think breakfast is the best time to use one if you’re on a mid-morning economy flight. Fill up on a proper brunch and it keeps you full for the whole flight and beyond, so there’s no buying expensive food on board.
Most pay-in lounges let you in up to 3 hours before departure. The Executive by Escape at Manchester T2 is 2.5 hours.
The honest maths
When does the lounge win?
For a quick coffee and a bacon roll, the terminal is usually cheaper. The lounge starts to pay off once you’d have a proper meal and a few drinks, or when a pass is discounted. For each airport below we add up real, published terminal prices for two people, compare them with two lounge passes, and show the point where the lounge wins.
We only use prices we could find published. Where a price is missing we say so rather than guess. We found a full set of prices for all three meals at 1 terminal, and at least one complete meal at 4 terminals.

How to get the best price
01
Check direct first
The lounge’s own website is often the cheapest or the same price. No1 and Aspire add guaranteed delay cover on direct bookings only, and Aspire has 65+ rates.
02
“From” means from
Prices change with the date, time and length of stay. Early mornings and school holidays cost more, so book as soon as you know your flight.
03
Compare like for like
Resellers sometimes beat the direct price with codes, but check the stay length (2 vs 3 hours) and the cancellation terms.
04
Fly often?
A membership like Priority Pass only pays off if you use lounges several times a year, and some lounges need a booking even with a pass.
We may earn a small commission if you book through these links, at no extra cost to you. Always compare with the lounge’s own site.
Booking channels we checked
Lounge’s own site (No1, Escape, Aspire, Plaza Premium, airport booking engines): Often the cheapest or equal. No1 and Aspire add guaranteed delay cover on direct bookings only, and Aspire has 65+ senior rates. On 20 Oct 2026 Aspire resold No1 Heathrow T3 at from £50 vs £40 direct
Holiday Extras: Sometimes cheaper with codes (blog: Plaza Premium T2 £40.85 for 3 h vs £44.10 direct for 2 h, Aug 2026); "up to 12% off" lounge promos (secondary). Check like-for-like stay length
Lounge Pass (loungepass.co.uk, also powers many airport websites): Unconfirmed vs direct; advertises UK lounges from £25
Priority Pass (membership): Worth it if you fly often: Standard £69/yr + £24 per visit; Standard Plus £229 with 10 visits; Prestige £419 unlimited (UK prices via secondary source, 10 Oct 2026). No1 lounges charge cardholders a pre-book fee from £6pp; LBA pre-book fee £6
DragonPass: Membership/pay-per-visit; accepted at Escape, No1, Six Eight One
Airport websites (Glasgow, Southampton, Leeds Bradford, Belfast Intl, Cardiff run their own booking engines): Usually the official price; Glasgow says pre-book "to enjoy exclusive savings"
Good to know
Stansted: Ryanair and easyJet passengers have no pay lounge since Escape closed; Essence is Gates 1–19 airlines only.
Showers: none at any No1 brand lounge (No1 FAQ). Escape Manchester T2 lists showers; the Heathrow T3 Plaza Premium arrivals lounge has showers for after a long-haul arrival. Most other UK budget lounges don’t mention showers: unconfirmed.
Quiet: No1 lounges don’t make flight announcements; adults-only spaces are Clubrooms, Luxe and Suite by Aspire (18+ Newcastle, 12+ Liverpool), and the Six Eight One quiet area at Leeds Bradford. My Lounge is the lively, family one.
Limits: Belfast International Causeway caps alcohol at 2 drinks; Cardiff 51° reportedly 4; Plaza Premium charges for Prosecco and premium drinks; UpperDeck charges for fizz; Escape charges for premium alcohol.
Checked 20 October 2026. Pay-to-enter lounges only; airline lounges aren’t included. Lounge details come from each lounge’s or airport’s own pages unless marked; “unconfirmed” means we couldn’t find it stated. Preview note: booking links have no affiliate tracking yet.
